12 Simple Ways to Naturally Whiten Your Teeth at Home

Once a week, rub the inside of the peel over your teeth for about two minutes and then brush like usual.

Turmeric is often used as a natural teeth whitening remedy because it is anti-inflammatory , antimicrobial, and contains antioxidants, making it effective for treating common dental problems like gum disease. In the form of a fine powder it acts as a gentle abrasive, removing surface stains and revealing whiter teeth in an instant. Simply rub about a teaspoon’s worth over your teeth using your finger, brush with a clean toothbrush and rinse.

8. Hydrogen Peroxide:

This simple cleanser is a natural bleaching agent, making it a popular ingredient in commercial whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes. Many DIY whitening methods only remove surface stains, but hydrogen peroxide will actually bleach the color of your natural tooth for a longer-lasting effect.

Although hydrogen peroxide can be potentially harmful to your mouth in high levels, it’s perfectly safe in low concentrations of about 2 to 3 percent (which is what you’ll get in those brown bottles from the drugstore). To brighten up your teeth, rinse with a solution of equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water —just make sure not to swallow it. It’s safe enough to use daily, unless, of course, you experience any kind of sensitivity; in that case, scale back to just a couple times a week.
